Coach Stores: Flagships, Shops and What to Know

Coach ended its 2026 fiscal year, on 27 June 2026, with 973 directly operated stores, as reported in Tapestry’s annual report. Of that total, 336 sit in North America and 637 are in international markets. A figure of about 1,299 stores is also quoted, but that number spans all of Tapestry’s brands rather than Coach on its own. Tapestry has reportedly said it plans around 50 net new Coach stores in fiscal 2027, with roughly three quarters of them outside North America. The network spans flagship Coach House locations, everyday full-price boutiques, concessions in department stores and Coach Outlet stores. Searching for a coach store can therefore throw up very different formats, from a multi-floor flagship to a unit in an outlet village. This guide goes city by city through the most thoroughly documented locations and notes where a store’s current status still needs checking.

New York: The Coach House on Fifth Avenue

Coach was founded in New York in 1941, and its home city houses its most famous flagship. To celebrate the brand’s 75th anniversary, the Coach House at 685 Fifth Avenue opened in the fall of 2016. Coverage described it as about 20,000 square feet across three floors, with a design developed with William Sofield’s Studio Sofield. Coach has reportedly taken a lease on about 13,200 square feet at 645 Fifth Avenue for a new Coach House, so the current address is not a long-term home. The planned move is pencilled in for 2027, and David Yurman is reported to have taken a lease on the 685 Fifth Avenue space, with an opening expected in early 2029. Whether the current store is still trading on a given day has not been confirmed, so consult Coach’s store locator before making a special trip. Also listed on the locator is a Coach store at 20 Hudson Yards, near Tapestry’s headquarters at 10 Hudson Yards.

London and the Regent Street Coach House

London’s Coach House is located at 200–206 Regent Street and opened its doors in 2016 as a global concept store. Studio Sofield also designed the London store, lending it a family resemblance to the New York flagship. Coverage at the time described a Craftsmanship Bar for monograms and personalisation. Coverage also noted a Made to Order bar for the Rogue bag. Made-to-order Rogue pieces reportedly need around 12 weeks, rising to about 16 weeks with exotic skins. One retail-district listing carries a much later page date, which has led some writers to state the wrong opening year. According to a published transcript of Tapestry’s August 2026 earnings call, the company said the UK, plus some wholesale business, is the only part of Europe where Coach has material market penetration. Anyone planning a personalisation appointment should confirm which services are available now before visiting.

Tokyo and Ginza

Tokyo’s Ginza district houses Coach’s flagship in Japan. The first Japanese flagship opened its doors there in 2002, and the store was renewed in 2015. Coverage of the relaunch says that the studio CURIOSITY reimagined the store, which reopened on 19 December 2025. Japan also matters for services, because select Japanese stores reportedly take part in the Coach (Re)Loved trade-in exchange. Gently worn all-leather retail bags are reportedly accepted under the scheme, but outlet items and canvas pieces are left out. Which Japanese stores participate was not confirmed, so check with the store before taking a bag in. As with every flagship in this guide, opening times and services are best checked shortly before a visit.

Greater China: Hong Kong, Chongqing and a Dated Shanghai Record

Compared with New York or London, Coach’s large stores in Greater China are documented less thoroughly. A now-dated record states that a flagship of about 7,000 square feet opened its doors on Huai Hai Middle Road in Shanghai in April 2010. Do not assume the Shanghai store is open today, since its current status could not be verified. It has also been reported that Coach operates a global flagship in Hong Kong and a two-storey glass flagship in Chongqing. The launch dates for those two stores were likewise not verified. The annual report counts 637 international stores within Coach’s 973 directly operated stores, but it gives no city-by-city list. Older press coverage is less reliable than Coach’s local store locator, so travellers should use the locator when planning a visit.

British Boutiques and Concessions

Apart from Regent Street, full-price stores are listed on Coach’s UK store locator at Westfield London in White City and at Westfield Stratford City. London also has listings at St Pancras and the Promenade Level at Canary Wharf. The Bullring in Birmingham is home to the documented full-price store away from the capital. Shoppers can also find Coach in concessions at Harrods in Knightsbridge and Selfridges on Oxford Street, where a Coach Playground space has been promoted. Do not assume a local branch exists in cities such as Manchester or Edinburgh before checking, since stores there could not be confirmed. For anyone searching coach uk locations, this list sets out the documented full-price options at the time of writing. Each listed store has its own page on Coach’s UK website, which is the most reliable place to confirm hours and services.

Shopping at Coach Outlet Stores

Rather than being independent discounters, Coach Outlet stores form part of Coach’s own network, and Coach’s store locator labels them as outlets. Outlet shopping centres are the typical setting for Coach Outlet stores, and Coach has reportedly opened Coach Coffee Shop concepts at Jersey Gardens and Woodbury Common in the United States. Confirmed Coach Outlet stores in Great Britain trade at Bicester Village, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and Ashford Designer Outlet. A store at York Designer Outlet has been reported but not confirmed, so verify before heading there. Outlet stock is partly produced for the outlet channel, and the only share figure found, around 85%, dates from 2014, so today’s mix is unknown. Under the reported “One Coach” strategy, the assortments also bring in some full-price collection product, alongside earlier-season styles. When planning a coach outlet trip, review the current offers: promotions change, and coupon-site sale calendars were not verifiable.

What You Will Find Inside a Coach Store

Clothing, shoes and small leather goods are shown next to the current handbag range in a full-price coach store, where the bags remain the primary focus. The Tabby was introduced in 2019, the Brooklyn followed in August 2024 and the Empire Carryall arrived in February 2025, and the three count among the recognisable bag families in 2026. These figures are market observations, not an official price list: observed US prices put a Tabby 26 at $475 and an Empire Carryall 34 at $450. The (Re)Loved trade-in operates in North America retail stores plus select UK and Japan stores, which means selected stores take part. Reportedly, Coach Insider, a free loyalty programme, covers both Coach and Coach Outlet, which means one membership spans both formats. Coach says it does not authenticate merchandise, which makes a receipt from a Coach store useful proof of where a coach bag came from. Creative direction is in the hands of Stuart Vevers, whose appointment was announced in June 2013 and who continues as Creative Director in 2026.

Planning a Visit

Wasted trips are easy to avoid with a little preparation, especially while the New York flagship gets ready to relocate. As Coach’s store locator distinguishes full-price stores from Coach Outlet locations, first check the version for the country you are visiting. Check your bag is all leather rather than canvas, and that the specific store participates, when you are after a trade-in. Enquire ahead of time whether a personalisation or made-to-order service is running. Visitors to Britain should be aware that tax-free shopping for tourists in Great Britain ended on 1 January 2021, so there is no VAT refund to count on. Each receipt shows where a bag was bought in case questions arise later, so keep them all. Before travelling a long way to an outlet centre, review current promotions, as offers change often.

  • Consult the store locator on the day you travel.
  • Confirm that the store participates in trade-ins and that your bag is eligible.
  • Personalisation appointments should be booked ahead.
  • Each purchase should come with a receipt filed away.
